Countdown
See exactly how long until the day you're waiting for, second by second. Share the link so friends can watch too.
How to use
- Enter a name, date and time and the clock above starts counting immediately. New Year, Christmas, midnight tonight and Friday 5 PM are one tap away.
- Go Fullscreen to put it on a classroom screen, an event projector or a stream.
- Share link creates an address that contains the target time and name, so anyone who opens it sees the same countdown — converted to their own time zone.
Your last countdown is saved in this browser and comes back next time. Once the target passes, it switches to counting time since — handy for "days since I quit smoking" or "days since we met".
How the days are counted
The large digits show the exact time remaining: days, hours, minutes and seconds. The line above them counts calendar days: if your exam is tomorrow at 9 AM it says "Tomorrow" even though fewer than 24 hours are left, and on the day itself it says "It's today!". That matches how people usually talk about dates.
For birthdays and anniversaries, just enter the date. For exams, flights and launches with a set start time, include the time so the final day counts down hour by hour.
Check that your clock is right
The countdown uses your device clock. If that clock is a few seconds off, so is the countdown — which matters for a New Year's Eve countdown to the second. Check it first on Exact Time. For short durations, the timer is simpler.
FAQ
Which time zone does it use?
Your device's local time zone. A shared link stores the exact moment, so friends in other time zones see the same countdown converted to their own time.
How long does a shared link work?
Forever — the target time and name are part of the link itself, nothing is stored on a server.
Are exam dates built in?
No, because they change every year. Check the official schedule and enter the date and start time yourself.
